IMAGES IN A MIRROR
When my candle burns to the end
I stand before the mirror
and wait for you.
You,
with another candle, brighter
because it shines in a mirror.
You come at my command
I lean towards you.
you towards me.
We challenge,
stare, neither in wonder, nor in surprise.
We test the tenacity, endurance,
a battle not for power.
We both know the futility of power.
what is it we want?
A war of attrition?
I am as much living in a mirror as you behind that glossy panel.
Why do we want to correct each other
when we are simultaneously right or wrong?
I cannot prise open the glass mirror
without breaking it into shards,
nor can you enter my world
without walking over the shards
We are both unreal, you to me and I to you
Images in a mirror.

Regards respected friend +Sushama KarnikREPLY Sep 22, 2016 - +Kumar Rabindranath Thank you for bringing me back to what I wrote, with your discerning eye. When you pick out the line or words, I turn around say, "Oh yes, it does make sense!" :-)

- I will go back and verify what you said. With you, one can't be sure. Remember, the other day you refused to believe a friend who paid you a compliment and told him to take aspirin and go and sleep in a dark room :):) +Joe Leigh-Corrigan

- I know. I have experienced that sometimes on the net. But I assure you, you can trust me. And I think by now I am familiar with the nuances of your speech, and I believe we can safely tread the perilous path of internet. :-) without causing worry. +Joe Leigh-Corrigan
